Mechanical Fitter - Temporary Role
Reports to: Workshop Manager (working in a team of 4)
Responsibilities:
- Benchfitting: prepare and assemble component parts to strict specifications following Magnetron assembly drawings/instructions.
- Some limited machining of parts is required during the assembly process.
- Undertake testing & pack ready for despatch.
- General housekeeping and organisation of the workshop.
Part of the Magnetron assembly is undertaken in clean room conditions.
The individual must be able to work to tight deadlines with a high degree of care and accuracy; an engineering apprenticeship with good all-round mechanical engineering experience is required.

Design Engineer/Senior Design Engineer - Long-term contract or Permanent
Working within a team of 5, this role is for a dedicated hands-on Design Engineer with a high level of attention to detail. The position reports to the Design Manager and involves the customisation of products to meet customer specifications and some new product development work. Modification of standard design templates as well as the generation of bespoke parts lists for particular designs will be part of your remit. You will liaise with customers, and internally with individuals from all disciplines across the business providing technical support and briefing at all stages of the manufacturing process right through to shipment of the final product.
You will be a highly talented and methodical Mechanical Engineer with a good technical background, have detailed draughting experience and exceptional 3D CAD modelling skills. Innovation and flair will be natural to you as will the ability to deal with complex technical issues. Ideally educated to degree level or at least of graduate calibre and with a track record of innovative design success, you will be a forward thinking engineer with a flexible and quality focussed attitude.
This is a very challenging and varied role that will appeal to your scientific and technical aspirations. Salary for this position is between £25,000 to ₤34,000 (dependent upon level of experience) and includes a very good benefits package, which consists of 25 days holiday plus statutory days, critical and life cover and matched pension contributions.
